Amahl and the Night Visitors Auditions announced

A Christmas Opera

KCC Opera/Musical Theatre Ensemble announces auditions for its upcoming staged production of Menotti’s Amahl and the Night Visitors.

We are auditioning for the following principal roles – Mother (soprano/ mezzo)
Amahl (boy soprano role between the age of 9 and 14), King Kaspar (tenor), King Melchior (baritone), King Balthazar (bass) and The Page(tenor).

Auditions will be held on the following two dates and location:

July 31st. 2:00pm- Davidson Building (advance auditions)

August 10th. 2:00pm- Davidson Building advance auditions)

General open auditions: for community members and KCC students:

September 3rd. 4pm-6pm Davidson Building

September 4th.- 4pm-7pm Davidson Building

KCC’s Opera/Musical Theatre Workshop Ensemble is committed to bringing quality opera/operetta and musical theatre experiences to both the college and the greater Battle Creek community.

Time Commitment:
Rehearsals begin in mid September on select Wednesday evenings, (4:30pm-6:30pm) with performances on December 5 & 6 at 7:30pm. Sunday matinee on December 7th at 3:00pm.

Material To Prepare:
For the audition we would prefer to hear one selection from the opera if possible. As an alternative, bring a selection to be sung in English that will best show us your voice.
