REPERTOIRE NOTES: 2014 Gerald J. Blanchard

Ok, the official repertoire list has been updated on the Italy Tour playlist on Youtube. This is no longer “potential,” but now official. Due to budget limitations, very specific rules associated with each of the venues we are scheduled to perform and need for variety, I have selected the following works: (see below)

Our repertoire has been carefully selected by me to optimize on acoustics of space and accommodation of rules set forth by our host venues. There are things which will be accompanied on organ, electronic keyboard (acoustic piano when available) or sung a cappella. As you will see, there are some excellent pieces which I know you will love learning and ultimately perform. I am very pleased to announce that Costas Dafnis has agreed to conduct his composition while on tour. I of course will conduct all others. This repertoire will be used for our Spring concerts in addition to our 2014 concert tour. I will try and get PDF’s out after the school opens (Jan. 2) so you can get a jump start on your preparations. I look forward to working with you all in the coming weeks. For those of you who are not regular members of Kellogg Choirs, you must be absolutely prepared once tour rehearsals begin in mid-June. There will be a period of intense nightly rehearsals (10 days prior) leading up to the date of departure. You must have all notes and rhythms rock solid prior to that first rehearsal. You are always welcome to sit in on any regular scheduled rehearsal in Coldwater (6:30pm on Tuesday evenings) with the Branch County Community Chorus or in Battle Creek (Monday and Wednesdays @ 2:30pm) with the Kellogg Singers (January through May). Until we meet again, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!! Here is the link. Not sure why the hyper-link is being difficult. But see my link in the comment section. That works.
