The count down has begun. Now we have crossed the March threshold, we now count down to our biggest music making event of the semester…Singing in the Spring 2013. Slated for April 14 at 3pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek (downtown Battle Creek).
Thus far this concert is shaping itself into something spectacular! In addition to the fine choral works presented by the KCC Choral Union, the program will include the following:
Pre-concert talk on American Music by Dr. Ray DeBruler, professor of history
Solo appearances by KCC keyboard faculty, Kathy Cary on organ and Paula Krontz-Harris, pianist.
Additional artist will include KCC Voice faculty, Carmen Smith soprano and KCC English faculty Elizabeth Kerlikowske who will present several of her poems.
Wait! There is more…the program will also feature the KCC Jazz Band under the direction of Tom Lockwood. Just when you thought we were done, there will also be a visual art component to the event, as KCC art students will display several of their pieces during the reception.
Now you ask, where and when will all of this take place…Answer: Sunday, April 14th at 3:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek.
